Growing up, magazines were everything. They answered the awkward questions before you even knew how to ask them. They let you try on new versions of yourself - your style, your opinions, your taste - without any real stakes.

Now, as our own daughters reach that age, we looked around and realised those magazines don't quite exist anymore. The world has changed and majority has moved online, the but need for a space that’s simply theirs still exists.

And so, we did what any delulu millennial homeschooling mum’s would do - and we created our own magazine (lol).

athena has everything we loved about those original issues - the fun, the colour, the letterbox excitement - but we’ve built it for the girls of today. Taking the best parts of the 90s, but combining it with millennial EQ - focusing on wellness and fun reads, mental fitness and fashion, opportunities that exist in the world that are real for them - not a celebrity or influencer based highlighted reel.

athena aspires to be the space to figure out who they are without an algorithm, or the world, doing it for them.
